life: the book

12:00 PM - Tuesday 1 July 2008

Welcome to the blog relaunch! Starting today I will chronicle my 'everyday'. Raw stuff, vegan stuff, eco stuff, comedy stuff. I picked today to start because the '1' in July 1 seemed like a good number to start with. So, here we are. It's a new day and new life for me. I have a lot of ideas and visions on what I want to do going forward and this blog will help me see the path I am headed and what roads I took. Made some mistakes (bout 1000) in the past, and will probably (most definitely) make more, possible even today. But now more than ever, I am ready to turn them into positives. I know today is the best day to start anew because there is no other moment. Tomorrow & yesterday are 2 thieves stealing time.
Life is like a book. A novel that we continue to write everyday. Some of yours might be lived like a epic adventure tome with death defying jumps and narrow escapes or others like a torrid romance novel where you bang everything in sight (Wear protection! Which by the way, they NEVER uses is those erotic paperbacks. It was always, "Markus rips off his lovers undergarments and throws them aside with the passion of a wild boar going for the best seat in the slop house and violently thrusts his virile member into her sugar castle in one testosterone driven motion". My sister used to tell me). Ahem.
Some might even be like a murder mystery (and as long as you weren't the murderer, than thats probably a good book/life so far). You meet a lotof interesting characters who may or may not be stabbing you in the back. Anyways, there are a lot of book styles and a lot of lives being lived. Live yours.

The great thing about life being a book we are constantly writing is that like a great novel, it goes through countless rewrites until its they way the author intended. He will have bumps along the way, like deciding to have his mother-in-law being the one who murdered the gardener instead of the poolboy, or getting completely rid of that story arc where you have sex with the dog. While the cat watched. Some of you have left that part in. You know who you are!

Anyways, my point is, if you don't like the way your story is going...change it. Murder that gardener. Get it on with Fido. Become the president of the United States (please). Travel the world with the gardener, Fido and the prez. You CAN do it. I always say, if you were to die today and they wrote a book about your life, would anybody buy it? You ever read a great book and wish your life was like that? I have and it was inspiring. Then again, I also read books that made me want to pull out all my vains with my teeth, so whatever. Your world can be the way you want it. Just write it that way. Live it. Be it. Do it. All it takes is a rewrite. Rip the page you just wrote in a million pieces and do it. What are you waiting for? Christmas? (My mom always said that to me when I was lollygagging on something so I figured I'd add it in here). So yea, get out that pencil of life and write something fabulous! Right now! Mistakes count. Use them to make the next chapter even more of an exciting turnaround. Make the book of your life sexy! Its yours! By the way, pick a good cover!

Just don't make it one of those ones that have a painted Fabio with that obnoxious wind blown blonde mane or nobody will buy it.

Or will they?

Woohoo!

I've passed your details on to my friend at Omega - she's been very busy and it's difficult for her to find time online with everyone else using the PC's there too, but she's hoping she'll get some time to contact you soon.

yes I like the idea of writing your own story and changing it to suit - especially the sexy bit!

Hi Tommy,

I like your blog so far! I like your tagline and design, too. Not many raw vegan comedians around. ;)

I hope you are doing well and enjoying life.
